Now Micro Right Click Tools Enterprise Beta

Now Micro Right Click Tools-Enterprise is the familiar Right Click Tools re-architected to provide a faster, more secure and richer user experience. The new tools will provide you with the same great features you have come to expect, plus multiplatform mobile support. System Administrators, Support Desk Staff and Field Technicians can now utilize the power of the Now Micro Right Click Tools from their mobile devices to get more done in more places than ever before.

New Features:

Now Micro Right Click Tools Enterprise comprises three main pieces:

  • Right Click Tools Enterprise Server - An IIS hosted service that provides delegation, auditing and the ability to add features without deploying new clients
  • Right Click Tools Enterprise - The familiar Right Click Tools, rewritten to utilize the Enterprise Server to provide centralized management, auditing, security and accommodate your network requirements
  • Right Click Tools Mobile - Mobile applications for iOS, Android and Windows Phone that allow you to perform quick actions in a mobile first UI.

System Requirements:

  • Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Virtual Machines are supported
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 1GB of disk space
  • IIS 7.5 or above
  • .NET 4.5
  • A certificate issued from a external certificate authority (CA) or mobile devices that have been configured to trust an internal PKI root CA
  • Delegation is not fully implemented in the Beta, therefore a domain account that has permissions to clients, servers, AD and SCCM is required.
  • Do not install the beta on an existing SCCM server, or host that uses IIS. We recommend building a new host for the beta. The final installer will allow some flexibility in this requirement.

What kind of information are we collecting?

We will collect some information during the beta period from mobile devices. During the beta period, we plan to collect information that includes device type/version, tools that are used and crash information. The information will be tied to the username and used for providing direct support. The RTM version of the mobile apps will use a randomly generated identifier instead of collecting usernames and provide opt-out of most analytics.

Installing the Beta

  1. Prepare the server by installing required RCT Enterprise Windows Components
  2. Download the installer (MSI) [[1]]
  3. Run the installer
  4. Import a certificate for use with IIS. This needs to be a certificate that is trusted by your mobile devices.
  5. Configure the RCTEnterprise site bindings to use https with the imported certificate
  6. Enable Basic Authentication and Windows Authentication on the RCTEnterprise site. Disable Anonymous Authentication.
  7. Run the Control Panel application (Right click and "Run As Administrator") and perform First Time Configuration Using RCT Enterprise Control Panel
  8. Add users to the system and give them permissions using the Control Panel or mobile apps.
  9. Toggle "Permissions Checking" in Administration | Settings | Administration to enforce permissions your permissions set
  10. Get the mobile applications. For the beta, you will need to email with your mobile device type (Windows Phone | iOS | Android) and the email address of the account you use to obtain applications on the device.


  • The Control Panel does not have a manifest to prompt for UAC.
  • Logging out on the mobile apps is currently not implemented. Please close and reopen the application.
  • The Android app can have performance issues when more than 200 results are returned from a query.
  • Pressing login more than once may crash the application.
  • Delegation is currently not supported. We plan on addressing this issue in a future release.
  • Changing settings will sometimes result in blank pages being returned.
  • The iOS app does not save credentials
  • The mobile apps do not save the domain name in the login screen
  • The AD module domainLdapSuffix setting should not be modified.
  • On the login page, the login text occasionally moves to left justification after a failed login attempt.
  • The plugin order is random.
